Alda Crane Viewing Site

Safe, convenient viewing of Sandhill cranes during their spring migration is offered from this unique site, two miles south of the Alda I-80 Interchange. 

Alda Crane Viewing site recently received new upgrades including: 

  • Replacement of the existing trail with a new 1,047-foot-long, 10' wide, 6" thick, concrete recreational trail
  • Paved the three existing gravel parking lots to make the area fully ADA accessible
  • Replaced the 30-year-old wooden viewing platform
  • Added Quartzite riprap to secure streambank
