Lower Platte South Natural Resources District Board to Fill Vacancy
LINCOLN (NE) March 23, 2017–The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (NRD) is accepting letters of application and qualifications from registered voters in its Subdistrict 8, interested in filling a vacancy on the NRD Board of Directors. The vacancy occurred upon the recent death of Director Larry Hall. Applicants must be registered voters living within the subdistrict and they must apply by Friday, April 14th.
The appointee, upon approval by the board, will serve the balance of the first half (through December 2018) of the current four-year term. The remaining two years of the term (January 2019 – December 2020) will be filled by election in 2018. Subdistrict Eight generally includes much of the area in Lincoln between “O” Street and Pioneers, from 33rd Street to 84th Street. The NRD administers soil and water conservation, flood control, ground water management, environmental education and wildlife management programs.
