Lower Platte South Natural Resources District Extend Applicant Deadline for Board Member
LINCOLN (NE) April 13, 2015 - The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (NRD) has extended the period for finding someone to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors. Applicants must be a registered voter and reside within the NRD's Subdistrict Five. The new deadline for submitting a letter of application is May 8th.
The appointee, upon approval by the Board, will serve the balance (through December, 2016) of the first half of the current four-year term. The appointee could run for the seat in the 2016 Primary and General elections to complete the current term. Subdistrict Five includes downtown Lincoln, the north bottoms, Capital Beach & West O, and an area between A & O Streets from 33rd Street west to approximately the Homestead Expressway. The NRD administers soil and water conservation programs, flood control, ground water management, environmental education and wildlife management.
