The question is not how much rain you have, but how much rain soaked in? We'll discuss this important question at a Cover Crop and Soil Health Workshop to be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Location will be at the Don Blaschko home in northeast Buffalo County, address 41785 Pole Line Road in Gibbon. The workshop is open to the first 50 people who register, since seating is limited. Lunch is free and sponsored by the Central Platte Natural Resources District, Arrow Seed of Broken Bow, and Green Cover Seed of Bladen. The agenda will include a look at how cover crops affect water infiltration, their use of soil moisture, promoting healthy soil structure, and the effect of tillage vs. long-term no till in regards to how much rain soaks into the soil.
