Lower Platte South NRD approves Salt Creek Flood Resiliency Joint Work Plan
LINCOLN, Nebraska – The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (LPSNRD) board of directors met Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, and approved the Salt Creek Flood Resiliency Joint Work Plan with the City of Lincoln.
The LPSNRD, in partnership with the City of Lincoln, is evaluating the impact of measures in the Salt Creek Watershed to flooding in Lincoln. The Joint Work Plan outlines efforts underway by the city and the NRD to provide flood protection within Lincoln’s jurisdiction and lays groundwork for projects in the future to strengthen flood protection efforts, including planning elements of Salt Creek resiliency.
In other business the board:
- Authorized the General Manager to negotiate a land purchase agreement with Solidago.
- Approved a Class 5 replacement water well permit and variance for Monolith.
- Approved a contract amendment for contractual services related to the Little Salt Creek WFPO Plan-Environmental Assessment.
- Approved construction services agreement from Olsson for the MoPac Wood Box Culvert Replacement project.
- Approved the Lincoln Flood Mitigation Master Plan.
- Approved a CAP application request from Wedgewood Manor Lake Association for a dam repair project.
- Approved the Community Assistance Program Policy
- Approved 8 cost-share applications from district landowners for implementing best management practices.
