Comments Invited on Changes to Erosion and Sediment Control Program
LINCOLN (NE) October 3, 2016 – The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (NRD) is proposing revisions to parts of its Erosion and Sediment Control Program that reflect changes adopted by the state and in conformance with the Nebraska Erosion and Sediment Control Act. A public hearing has been set to gather comments and suggestions on Wednesday, October 26th, 2016, starting at 5:30 PM at the NRD office, 3125 Portia Street, in Lincoln.
The proposed changes relate to several aspects of appendices A, C and D of the Erosion and Sediment Control Program, including amendments to the rules and regulations that implement the program within the district:
“Soil loss limit” is now called the “soil loss tolerance level”
Sheet and rill erosion defined
Ephemeral gully erosion added and defined
Added construction, operation and maintenance of public power, and the public power and irrigation districts to the list of statutory exclusions
Removed 90% cost-share availability requirement
Correct various grammatical errors
