NARD Welcomes Intern
NARD Welcomes Intern
Presley Wendelin, currently a junior at UNL studying agribusiness, will join NARD as a part-time intern beginning Sept. 8, 2021.
Presley grew up in Gothenburg, Nebraska, where she was involved in many extra-circular school activities including serving as the Gothenburg FFA President.
Some of her hobbies include fishing with her chocolate lab, Bree, and now lots of studying. She is also heavily involved with the UNL Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program.
The Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship minor offers the knowledge, network, and experiences students need to create, launch, and sustain successful entrepreneurial ventures. Students develop skills to evaluate the feasibility of a business idea, execute effective marketing strategies, create profitable business structure, secure financing, and develop a sound business plan. It provides internship, travel abroad, and networking experiences. The minor is for students who want to create and own their own businesses or expand existing businesses by creating new value-added enterprises. Under the direction of this program, Presley purchased and operates her grandfather’s painting company in Gothenburg.
As a side note, Presley’s grandfather, Lawrence Wendelin, started the Gothenburg Grade School Outdoor Education Program back in the 1970’s. The program still operated today with volunteers in the community providing hands-on outdoor education experiences in the ag and natural resources arena for students. Presley has been involved with coordination of this program through the local FFA.
Presley looks forward to leaning more about the NRD system and programs.
