North Platte NRD Offers Cost-Share on Chemigation Check Valve

The North Platte Natural Resources District (NRD) is offering cost-share assistance on chemigation check valves that have or will be purchased and installed from July 1, 2015 through Jun 15, 2016.   Chemigation allows producers to apply fertilizer and pesticides directly where they are needed through an irrigation system.  The chemigation check valve avoids contaminating water resources by preventing pollutants from entering back into the water source.  

The cost-share is open to any groundwater or comingled landowner or operator within the North Platte NRD.  Funds are limited, so the program will be administered on a first come, first serve basis.  Cost-share will be fifty percent of the total cost of the valve only and will be limited to $400.  The applicant must also provide a paid invoice and the valve must be inspected by NRD staff. 

The NRD would also like to remind all producers that chemigate, the deadline for renewal permits is June 1st.
