2016 Crop Water Use Report Coming SOON
The UNWNRD Crop Water Use Report will look and sound a little different for 2016! The report will be starting during middle to late May; however, this could change slightly as freezing temperatures can damage the equipment used.
The NRD will be reporting on two additional crops this year, sunflowers and millet and be using six additional ET gage sites across the district. We will also be utilizing a site as a soil moisture station to report on the soil profile. The soil moisture station report will include irrigation applied, the soil type, the crop planted, and the growth stage. Soils will be different at each operation, but this will help with increasing awareness of monitoring your soils.
We are looking forward to another great year with the crop water use report! Remember, the Crop Water Use Report can be found online at unwnrd.org, panhandlepost.com, chadrad.com, in local newspapers and by listening to KCOW and KCSR radio. For more information on ET gages, soil moisture probes, or to be added to the e-mail listing for the Crop Water Use Report, please contact Nevin Price at the UNWNRD by calling 308-432-6190 or e-mailing price [at] unwnrd.org.
