NRD Seeks Applicants

LINCOLN (NE) March 27, 2015-The Lower Platte SouthNatural Resources District (NRD) is accepting letters of application and qualifications from residents of NRD Subdistrict Five interested in filling a vacancy on the NRD Board of Directors. Applicants must also be a registered voter. The deadline is April 17th.

The appointee, upon approval by the Board, will serve the balance (through December, 2016) of the first half of the current term. To serve until the end of the term (through December, 2018), the appointee must successfully run for the Board seat in the 2016 Primary and General elections. Subdistrict Five includes downtown Lincoln, the North Bottoms neighborhood, Capital Beach& West O, and an area between A & O Streets from 33rdStreet west to approximately the Homestead Expressway. The NRD administers soil and water conservation programs, flood control, ground water management, environmental education and wildlife management.
