GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska – The Nebraska Department of Natural Resources will provide an update on Nebraska’s Upper Platte Basin Robust Review to the Central Platte Natural Resources District’s (CPNRD) Board of Directors on March 28, 2024.  The Robust Review includes water use activities and management activities aimed at fulfilling the goals and objectives of the Upper Platte Basin-Wide Plan, the Upper Platte Basin individual NRD Integrated Management Plans. The Board will meet at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Platte NRD office located at 215 Kaufman Avenue in Grand Island, NE.

Variance/Appeals Committee  Review and consider an appeal from a landowner in Dawson County.

Programs Committee  The committee will consider:
     a) Review recommendations for the NRD’s Cost Share Programs and Information/Education budgets for
          the 2025 fiscal year.
     b) Kearney Visitor Bureau welcome center funding request

Violation Report  Luke Zakrzewski, GIS Image Analyst, will request cease and desist orders to be issued on irrigated land that wasn’t certified or approved for irrigation through a transfer in 2023.

Natural Resources Conservation Service  Joe Krolikowski, District Conservationist, and Jason Scholz, Resources Conservationist, Grand Island Field Office, will report.

Nebraska Association of Resources District  Deb VanMatre, CPNRD Representative, will report.

Nebraska Natural Resources Commission  Mick Reynolds, Middle Platte Basin Representative, will report.

Cost-Share Applications through the Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation and the Central Platte NRD cost-share programs will be considered.

2025 FY Budget  The Eastern Projects and Western Projects committees will review their 2024 budgets and consider recommendations for the upcoming fiscal year.
