Lincoln Trail to Close near Haymarket Park

Lincoln Trail to Close near Haymarket Park

03/10/2014

LINCOLN (NE) March 10, 2014 - Lincoln's Salt Creek Levee Trail between West "O" Street and Line Drive will close, starting Tuesday, March 11, while a drainage pipe running through the levee is replaced. Trail users are advised to utilize North 8th Street during the closing, which is expected to last through April, depending on weather.

The levee, built in the 1960s, increases the capacity of Salt Creek through Lincoln and helps prevent flooding. The pipe being replaced is an original drainage pipe. The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District is in the process of replacing or rehabilitating many similar pipes along the 13-mile levee.
