NARD Foundation

Kids researching in grass field

The Nebraska Association of Resources District's Foundation was established as a way to support students with a desire to enter the field of natural resources. Your contribution to the NARD Foundation will help provide scholarships, internships and support for high school students to continue their education in natural resources. The NARD Foundation uses funds raised to youth develop an interest in a variety of natural resources programs. Your donation can be directed to one of these areas or any combination.

Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute

In 2011 the NARD Foundation donated to the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI). NAYI is a weeklong conference held each July, where high school juniors and seniors gather in Lincoln to learn more about agriculture and natural resources in Nebraska.

Ag Day on the Hill

Last March the NARD Foundation was able to co-sponsor a Nebraska college student with Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation for Ag Day on the Hill. The Nebraska representative spent National Ag Day in Washington D.C. learning about agriculture and natural resources issues.

Nebraska FFA

The NARD Foundation sponsors three awards at the Annual State FFA Convention held in Lincoln in early April. The three award areas were Outdoor-Recreation Proficiency, Natural Resources Chapter Award, and the Environmental and Natural Resources Management Career Development Event (CDE). This is a great opportunity to recognize Nebraska's youth for their interest and hard work in helping protect our natural resources.

Ag Awareness

The NARD Foundation donated funds to support the Nebraska Foundation for Agricultural Awareness (NFAA). The NFAA sponsors programs, such as Ag in the Classroom, to spread a positive agricultural message to teachers, students and parents about the importance of agriculture.

Connecting Young Nebraskans

Connecting Young Nebraskans (CYN) was supported by the NARD Foundation in 2012. CYN is a forward-looking organization that provides opportunities to shape the state's future by educating young Nebraskans about the importance of being involved in communities.

Nebraska Envirothon

The NARD Foundation supports the Nebraska Envirothon, an agriculture, wildlife and science competition for grades 9-12. The winning team represents Nebraska at the Canon Envirothon, which includes students from across the United States and Canada.

ACE

Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE) is supported by the NARD Foundation. The four day adventure in draws over 30 campers from across the state. Many of the campers received scholarships from their local NRD. The camp is open to all sixth through eighth graders; focuses on water resources, soil and land, forestry, range and grassland, and wildlife.
